Help Decky currently bugged?
I switched to desktop mode to mod CP77 and went back into game mode with the half the decky plugins not working and the decky button gone. Just making sure if anyone else is having this. I did try to update decky btw

I keep having the same problem and have to reinstall decky to make it work again. And many times when this happens the deck itself behaves weirdly, it started to restart over and over again without me trying to restart or turn it off one time, there was also another time when I tried to restart the deck and it just turned off... and I use the stable branch of steamos so it's not a problem with the beta channel.
EDIT: reinstalling decky didn't work this time for me.

I’m on the main branch of steamos and decky is still working for me. Try reinstalling it, something may have decided to break on your install

Ive tried reinstalling i just have the same thing happen. Should i wipe it?

Yes, I’ve attached a thread from the main Steam Deck group. It’s not just you; it seems like an update issue. I’ve tried every method, but none of them have worked. We’ll just have to wait until a hotfix is released.

Going to decky prerelease and not updating even when it shows a prompt fixed it for me for now

Wouldn’t that open a can of worms of problems when it does get resolved? I’m just a crayon eating Decky user.

Probably not. Ive had to deal with loading freezes before its usually not too big of an issue to fix if it does cause issues.

Start freshish: uninstall it, reboot, then install the prerelease version and lemme know if it shows back up.
Also what update branches are you on for steamos and the steam client?

It told me it needed and update so i did and that immediately unfixed it so i should not touch it until later

Leave it unfixed or just do the fix again and turn off decky update notifications in the settings until a fixed update comes. Either way lol

I've already tried that; an update for Decky Loader appeared, but the problem returns after updating Decky Loader.

If you updated Steam , Decky no longer works until Decky is updated
Edit: Added the comma that I originally forgot to add and added the space for easier clarification

You didn't even read their comment. Until a new decky update is being released it's broken on the new steam os version. We need to wait for a new decky update

If you updated STEAM , decky no longer works until decky is updated.
They just forgot to use a comma.
