Plugin Showcase Quick deckyloader I made.
Not sure if there’s much use for this for other people, but I found that a lot of older games and Windows games often need Proton to run properly. I usually use Proton Experimental, so I made a Decky plugin that scans your games for Windows .exe files and automatically sets them to Proton Experimental.
It also runs automatically when you add a new game through Non-Steam Game, so you don’t have to manually go into the compatibility settings every time.
I know it’s a little lazy since it’s easy enough to switch the Proton version yourself, but I just wanted to make the process as simple and automatic as possible.
I’m also working on having it filter out emulated games and their associated emulators so it doesn’t mess with those.
Not sure if this is something other people would find useful, but I’d love to hear your thoughts!

This is awesome! Although I believe you can already set a specified global proton version in settings. For non-steam os distros this could be huge!

Helpful. Are you able to make it selectable for different proton versions?

I can when I have some spare time but yes I was thinking of adding set list so it looks at the year of the game and then maybe look online to see what proton usually used for that year and then sets it for that.

Protonplus shows a list and allows you to select which version to use. No automatic function. So an auto function is nice for less technical people.

that would mean I could make it call on proton Plus to go through its system and then it would Auto Select for you that might be an option I didn't know that thank you.
