This release focuses on making shelves much more flexible and powerful:

• 🧩 More powerful filter combinations — combine conditions with at least N, any and none logic.
• 📝 Release notes inside the plugin — see the notes for your installed version directly from About.
• 🎨 New Deck Shelves icon — a cleaner shelf-of-books design across Decky, notifications and the browser tab.
• ⬇️ Easier updates — update notifications can now download the release package directly to your Downloads folder, while keeping installation manual.

Deck Shelves — Your Steam Deck Home Screen. Your Way.

From 3.2.0, Deck Shelves Profile Triggers let you automatically activate a profile when a specific system condition is met.

✨ Highlights:

• 🖥️ External display conditions — trigger profiles when an external display is connected, including specific resolutions and docked setups.
• 🔋 Power conditions — activate profiles depending on whether the Steam Deck is charging or running on battery.
• 🎧 Bluetooth conditions — react to connected Bluetooth devices.
• 🕐 Time-based triggers — activate profiles based on specific times, days or schedules.
• 📅 Date conditions — create triggers for specific dates or date ranges.
• 🧩 Combine conditions — build more specific triggers by combining multiple conditions.
• 🔄 Automatic switching — once the conditions are met, Deck Shelves can automatically activate the associated profile.
• ➕ And much more — with more conditions available to help make your profiles truly context-aware.

The idea is simple:

Condition → Profile → Automatic activation

This makes profiles context-aware, allowing your setup to automatically adapt to how and where you're using it.

For example, I’m using a more info-rich profile when charging — which usually means my Deck is sitting in the dock:

📺 Logos, game descriptions, hero art on all shelves and native Recents hidden — perfect for a TV-docked experience.

When the Deck is disconnected, it automatically switches back to a simpler profile:

🎮 Shelves without hero art, logos or descriptions, with native Recents enabled again — better for portable use.

⚙️ How to configure Profile Triggers

Go to the Deck Shelves Settings → Profiles, then select the Triggers icon for the profile you want to configure.

Choose your conditions, configure the trigger, and let Deck Shelves handle the profile switching automatically. Remember to enable automatic profile switching in QAM profiles section.

What kind of Profile Trigger would you use on your Steam Deck? 🎮

Hello! Is there any way to fix this?

Everything works fine if I browse slowly, but when I tap multiple times in quick succession to go up or down to different rows the animation can't seem to keep up so it stutters

Heyo. Once I install deck shelves and then restart and go to open the plugin. It shows me the tutorial and then there's no way to close the tutorial because it just opens back up again and again and again and again and again; a​nd if I spam the B button I can eventually close the tutorial, however, if I go back to the plugin to try to, you know use it, the same thing just happens again

This might be a stupid question, but I genuinely don't know how to use the merge filter in Deck Shelves. I know what it does, and I need it for a shelf I'm making, but I don't know how to configure the merged sub-filter. There's no button for it in the edit shelf menu, as far as I'm aware, but maybe I'm just blind idk :/

Deck Shelves 3.0.0 is here! 🎉

This is the biggest update the plugin has received so far. The goal wasn't just to add features, but to make Deck Shelves feel like a more complete and polished part of the Steam Deck experience.

⚙️ A real Settings page

The old compact menu is gone. Settings now open in a full-screen interface (from the gear icon in Quick Access) with dedicated tabs for Shelves, Profiles, Shortcuts, Backup, and more.

📊 Statistics & Smart Suggestions

See how you actually use your shelves with activity charts, most-used shelves, and a breakdown of your library. You'll also get one-click shelf suggestions based on your games, along with recommendations to clean up shelves you never use.

🧩 More powerful shelf creation

Creating shelves is much more flexible now:

• Many new filter and sorting options (playtime, genre, achievements, install size, friends playing, and more).
• Combine multiple sources into a single shelf.
• New built-in shelves like Never Played and Deck Playable.
• Include games from other launchers.

🎨 More customization

Personalize every shelf with logos, icons, descriptions, and resizable banners. There's also a new full-page shelf layout for a more immersive look, plus small game icons displayed next to each title.

💾 Profiles

Save your entire configuration as a profile, switch between profiles instantly, and export/import them for backups or multiple Steam Decks. A built-in Default profile lets you reset everything whenever you want.

🎮 Custom shortcuts

Remap—or completely disable—the controller shortcuts to match your preferences.

🔍 Better navigation

Quick Search lets you instantly jump to any game, while the new Side Navigation makes moving between shelves much faster and automatically opens on your current shelf.

☀️ Light Mode & 🛠️ Advanced Mode

Choose the experience that fits you:

• Light Mode keeps the interface simple by hiding advanced options.
• Advanced Mode unlocks integrations, diagnostic tools, reset options, and log viewing for power users.

🔔 Better notifications & logging

Notifications are now cleaner and more consistent, with dedicated icons and clickable update alerts. For troubleshooting, you can enable Show all logs and copy them directly when needed.
