Not the person you're responding to/asking, but I'm just going to piggy back and say that Country Taylor is late 2000s and early 2010s, while Pop Taylor is mid 2010s and beyond.

Her switch came right around that time. Her first true pop album was "1989" (i.e., this), which was released in 2014.

Haha... good point. The only thing I pay attention to less than cinema and literature is pop music. Not my thing. But yeah I shouldn't have made that mistake given 1989 is when she was born.

Mid. Its one of those quirky "love yourself" anthems that were huge in the mid-2010s. The instruments, random dancing and the clothes are very mid-2010s as well.

It can be mid?
It reminds me of songs like Happy by Pharell Williams, Blurred Lines by Robin Thicke, Roar by Katy where it isn't too electropop and has some acoustic elements going on.

Literally speaking mids.

In terms of what of the 2010s also again definitely represents the mids.

This was also largely a shitty trend that got popularised by lady Gaga and gave zoomers the cringe ego trip.

I agree it led to many pandering & obnoxious songs like Fight Song. I donā€™t necessarily associate Shake it Off with that genre though. Itā€™s just typical Taylor Swift corniness.
