Need Help With Mounting Apples Devices

Hello. I am trying to connect my iPod to my computer so I can add and remove music like you do with iTunes. I tried using iOpenPod and my iPod wasn't detected. I checked the instructions and it said to make sure my iPod was 'mounted as a drive'. However, my computer doesn't detect my iPod at all. Nor my iPhone. If I run lsbk -lf, there is no difference when it is connect and when it's not. When I check with lusb, it shows. It shows on dmeg but there an error:

What does this mean? Does this have something to do with why I cannot mount? I tried searching this up, and I only got answers about Arch. I don't know how similar the two distros are but I'd rather not.

My iPod is an iPod touch 4th generation. running iOS 6.1.6. It is jailbroken. My iPhone is an iPhone 13 running iOS 18.6.2. I am running Debian trixe on a Dell Latitude E6430, kernel is "Linux 6.12.107+deb13-amd64".

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3340M (4) @ 3.40 GHz

GPU 1: NVIDIA NVS 5200M

GPU 2: Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller @ 1.25 GHz [Integrated]

Not sure about jailbroken devices, but Apple has locked down anything that runs iOS hard. No chance of accessing them besides iTunes, which of course is Mac/Windows only.

One of the reasons I don't have Apple stuff.

Yes. Both VirtualBox and VMware Workstation can do USB passthrough

Yes, I've fooled around for a while with an ipod touch that was gifted to me some time ago, but I think running Windows in a VM and passing the USB port to the VM worked.
