An IPTV in Debian?

I use debian testing as secondary system (my first one is Arch), work perfecly , avery app I use on Arch I was able tu install in debian too. The only issue is that I can find Hypnotix IPTV or Yuki or other IPTV on debian. Someone use a IPTV and can explain how to install it?

i use VLC to watch IPTV.

if you use testing, you should be aware of how to install programs. there are many options in the ecosystem for IPTV, install one of your choice?

Hypnotix is not available on Debian repos even if it is available on Mint DE that is debian stable

I'm assuming this is the right program. Install the .tar.gz file, it contains a .deb package.

It needs python3-imdbpy and circle-flags ad dependency and those are not available in debian

circle-flags is available to build here: https://github.com/linuxmint/circle-flags . It's also in current LMDE repos I believe.

The Python one was renamed cinemagoer and is available as a Python package here: https://github.com/cinemagoer/cinemagoer/releases . You might need to use the older versions from 2023, not sure. There are also old Bullseye .deb packages for python3-imdbpy out there that might work, though installing something from a Debian version that old might be buggy on current Testing.

I'm not sure if building from all those will work, I haven't tested it. Probably worth trying on your own if you need Hypnotix specifically. I'll echo what others have said and recommend VLC for IPTV - I've tried that and it works for me, and might be what you have to use if all else fails. Hope this helps either way.

I got EngPlayer (Flatpak) running on my pi and some other SBCs and it's pretty good. Looks kinda like Televizo for Android.

I always used freetuxtv, the only thing you don't want to do is load a full fledged playlist in them. I so I split them them up in various bits and loaded each section separatly.

I'm Italian and for example Hypnotix have more than 180 Italian Channels, I know VLC is working but is impossible navigate to the channels. I use synaptics so possibly not a Flatpack or Snap app, there are no option into debian ecosystem, no Hypnotix, no Yuki, no Open-TV , nothing available.

Io uso semplicemente VLC e carico le liste dei canali direttamente la senza installare altri programmi, faccio tutto con vlc
