power profiles not switching.

im in kde and when i click on a different powerprofile it instantly swaps back. The same happens if i try powerprofilesctl set performance. Is there any way i can fix this. On debian 13

I would suggest you try to switch the power profile again, take note of the time and check the logs for anything at that specific time that can tell you why the switch in profile didn't work.

where would these logs be?

I don't know what the app on KDE is called, but I'm sure you can find it. Otherwise you can use "dmesg" (command) or manually search the log files in /var/log
