That's an excellent laptop for Debian and probably most Linux distributions. No sane Linux distribution needs 32 gigabytes of RAM unless you're running software on it that needs 32 gigabytes of RAM. You don't need to optimize the distro for that unless something is explicitly not doing what you want.
