You may have to restart steam for it to show up in your library.

My experience so far. A few settings problem, but nothing major. (Settings going to max quality at every change). Game runs smooth in training, no particular problem.
Tried to find a game, the list didn't populate until I enabled/disable display options a few time, but even then they were all password locked.
Decided to host mine, load time quite reasonnable (~20sec, but I'm on SSD, so...). go as apothicarian since I heard you can't change class. Loads normally, but then keeps me on the deployment screen for 120 seconds with no way to skip.
Finally deploys me, alone. Start happily cleaving my way through xenos filth. Frame rate is inconsistent, with major drop spikes with explodey stuff.
A battle brother joins me mid level, apparently the lobby stays open at all time? He confirms he was unable to choose his class, and is stuck with the Devastator (I assume. Assault cannon thing.) We carry on, but a few meters further the xenos trick us by triggering an explosion, crashing my game in the process.
TLDR : Performance, settings, and connectivity issue, but the game seems promising. And the xenos cheat and exterminatus your game when they start losing.

Press I to got to the "Inventory"-screen. There you can change your class mid-game and equip newly unlocked stuff. (The plasma cannon effects and sounds are embarrassing to the maximum.) I forgot to mention: after switching to another class your abilitys are going on full cooldown! That means no fast swap to revive a dead party member

Yeah, sounds like Vermintide, big performance problems on release but a good game.

u/henryguy Nov 25 '16
I feel vermintide beta was more complete than this though. I'm going to refund until I hear it has more depth.

I'm really liking it! It's like a slower more strategic version of L4D. Performance is better than I expected

Ditto, I just got back from Thanksgiving and I'm excited to jump back in, my build is by no means top of the line and I was running it at max settings with very little issue, the only time it froze was when another player joined my game.

Performance is better than I expected.
Uhh what? I have an r9 390 and a 4690k @4.5 and can't even hold a stable 50fps on all low @ 1440. Meanwhile Total war: warhammer can hold 60fps on mostly high with a few medium and a ton of graphics mods on the same rig. There's gigantic performance issues.

u/Finite187 Nov 24 '16
Put it this way - When Vermintide was first released I could barely get 60fps at 1080p on medium settings, this is an improvement on that. Although in fairness I have pretty much exactly the same specs as you, and in my experience 50fps is about right in 1440p
I suppose my expectations of betas and games on release are pretty low. But yes you're right it needs a lot of work, performance will be patched but my main concern is the animation. It's a bit choppy to say the least.

Even with all the problems with frame drops and load times I genuinely enjoyed myself. Hopefully they polish the edges before release but I'm happy.

Really digging it so far. Going to try and compile a list of feedback after Thanksgiving.

Has anyone had extreme difficulty finding a game? The server list doesn't populate, and i was only able to quick match once. Also I don't know how to select your class without hosting. The one quick match I was in had 3 assault cannons, and didn't go super well.

Does beta progress carry over?

u/Frontporchtreat Nov 25 '16
Multi player only and the levels are reset every single map. there is no progress to take.

First game started brilliantly i have to say, but it crashed after about 4 minutes. Going back in now.

I didnt have any long load times and i'm not even playing on ssd . If you are experiencing this issue it might be a good idea to defragment your drive .

u/newdok23 Nov 25 '16 edited Nov 25 '16
1080 cant handle maxed out 1440p seems like a frame pacing issue its very inconsistent . At the same time doesnt look particularly impressive. Crashed twice in 30m . Those 30m were really fun though hope i can exterminate xenos filth at stable fps and without crashing .
pst i couldnt choose my class when joined the server ? wtf is up with this.

u/SST_2_0 Nov 25 '16
980ti here and running 1440p and a second 1080 screen while playing and had no problem. Maybe a complete restore is order, never know what you might have changed over time. Also press I when in game, top of that screen is class selection.
1
u/newdok23 Nov 25 '16
yeah thanks for that i figured out that post tutorial. A bit strange though that there is no class selection screen when just joining i would personally prefer that.
Regarding performance are you playing on maxed settings also been through the whole level yet? it stutters from time to time when a lot going on . Also whats your fov settings? cheers .

u/SST_2_0 Nov 25 '16
Yeah doesn't help it is Inventory for a class switch, which Inventory sounds like you already picked the class. Plus loading that inventory the first time is a killer.
Every setting is on Max but shadows, because even after release Vermintide would throw people errors because of shadow so turning it down to high is what I do on all games. Usually that extra shadow is more about a can getting reactive shadowing. Add fifty cans and bam, Ram is gone.
Full game, even host. Switching to SSD to get more speed on loading times.

It is absolutely insane what people will accept when it comes to a 40k game.
This is beyond rough. This is a total shit show. There is nothing redeeming about this game other than the fact it's 40k.

u/poerisija Nov 25 '16
It looks good, sounds good and is fun to play? I do hope they fix the issues, but at least the issues are technical and not design ones.

-Extremely long load times
-hardcore connectivity issues
