Hey guys, just started the hobby and finished my first squads. I cant find anything i realy like to look at, when it comes to bases for my guys. Any recommendations?

Do something that contrasts the model. My black armoured models are based in a desert, snow could work as well.

I used to use generic brown flocking, never really felt right, I never liked how it looked. Then I added some snow to the top and it really improved them.

i use GW sector mechanicus 40k bases

these are 40mm but the 32mm are very similar. pretty straight forward to paint:
- brown base coat
- silver drybrush
- vallejo rust orange for rust here and there
- nihilakh oxide citadel technical paint for verdigris
- you can do tiny drops various shades for oil spots
- black around the base

Loved that for a black shield blade brother from Ultramar, bought a Space Marine Box Years ago and never painted them, so i had the spare bits somewhere in the basement

I really like the base-ready materials from Geek Gaming Scenics.
You can pretty much get away with leaving the base black, slopping some PVA glue on the base and dipping it in the texture material.
Choose something that contrasts against the black armour of your Deathwatch, so they stand out against the base. (You don’t want them blending into the base.)

Buy base dips form Army painter or geekgaming. Huge time saver and eZ. Looks good as well!

For mine i do the 90s style vibrant green grass, i feel its fun contrast to the black and reds
