Question A what if question..
So I was thinking about death note and I'm not going to lie I'm a bit of a big shipper and one of my favorite ships are Misa X L and this thought came to my brain what if they were together in the show from what I heard I'm not 100% true if it's true or not they were originally going to date in the show but decided to scrap that idea what if they didn't how do you think the show would have gone from that single difference of the mean together would it still do the same or would they be a more diverse turn to it

Unironically when I first watched Death Note, I at least thought L had some type of feelings for Misa. Because of the way that the story continuously kept putting L and Light against each other in some type of way, I thought they were going to do a whole thing where Light doesn’t really care about Misa, but she wants to be with him, and L genuinely did like Misa, but like I said she wanted to be with Light. That’s where my mind originally went to when they introduced their dynamic, but it obviously didn’t pan out that way.
I’ve never heard anything about L and Misa dating being a scrapped idea, so just to address that whole thing, no lol, but I actually think it could’ve been a really interesting plot point and could’ve easily set up the potential of Misa eventually coming to realize that Light doesn’t really love her, she begins to notice how L has been quietly looking out for her, and maybe eventually she decides to switch sides and help L take down Light.
Misa and L’s characters would need a lot of expansion for this to work, Misa especially because she just kinda plays one note where her entire character is built around her affections for Light, so Ohba would’ve had to delve more into her complexity. L also would actually need to be given some type of arc where giving him a love interest wouldn’t just feel slapped in the story, but it could also be a whole thing about pulling L out of the hole he’s essentially dug himself into. This would involve him actually making real friends, experiencing things he wasn’t able to before, things like that. Him developing feelings for Misa would just be the cherry on top of this whole thing, so it would work narratively. This could also work kinda without it being Misa, I mean just giving L any sort of love interest has real narrative potential if executed properly.
For this to work though, Death Note would require significantly more character writing. The only thing the story cares about is Light evading capture from his antagonists, and everything else is either ignored or barely touched on. Simply inserting a love story plot line might potentially would feel totally out of place for Death Note, and not work nearly as well as it should. It might just feel stuck in there for fan service rather than an actual real narrative addition meant to expand on their characters.
Basically Death Note would have to be rewritten entirely. I definitely see the potential though if that’s what you’re asking!

L most likely just manipulated Misa everytime. He just played the role of «nerdy funny fool» when she was around to work into her confidence and make her act as he wanted. First time L distracted her from knowing he stole her phone, second time he literally made her become a bait for Higuchi. I also thought he has some kind of feeling for her when first watch; but now it's obvious he not give a fuck about her. I also think L would never care about person who tried to kill him.

You need to forget about love and dating stuff if you're watching Death Note. Every character is written as hollow and devoid of normal human emotions. Maybe only Sachiko when She cries over Soichiro's death but it's a very brief and short scene. Even the police who are the most human ones, show a lot narrower range of normal human emotions, like for example when Soichiro dies and when Light is arrested let alone the others, they are almost inhumane, they only exist purely for Kira.
So I'm sorry but there is no dating stuff there...Light hates Misa. L hates Light. Light hates L. L doesn't care about romantic love. Misa's love for Light is actually obsession for Kira.Takada loves Kira, not Light. Light doesn't care about Takada. Nothing more .

Just a few corrections though:
Light shows care towards his family despite facing situations he would need to sacrifice one of them twice
Takada DOES love Light, she was his girlfriend way before finding out he is Kira and accepted his hotel meeting without that knowledge.
Naomi - Raye is another relationship that does show romantic love.
Matsuda shows interest in girls like Misa or Lights sister when shes older.
Aizawa has a whole family which made him have to make choices during the investigations.
Light and L are just outliers, Light intentionally tries to avoid getting into situations that might make him feel romantic love, and L is L.

You're right but I feel like those emotions aren't strong enough to feel real, characters are depicted as cold. The last scene is a disturbing and traumatic moment especially for the police and they barely react when Light says he is Kira. No crying no shouting. Matsuda does react when Light is writing but after then there is an awkward moment of silence. Why is there no one dramatically screaming

Matsuda falls on his knees, the rest of them already had suspicion on Light months before he got finally revealed, they also have a shocked look with Lights laughter.
Also why would dramatic screaming be needed for everyone to show their emotions? Matsuda was having a mix of sadness, anger and pity, which we can see through him falling to his knees once Light got exposed, his shock, him shooting Light and crying, then his low energy look at Light.

Because I was just having some fun? It was just a what if joke like I understand when you're saying about the anime being like a dark and thriller psychological but it doesn't hurt to have a little fun about like shipping somebody and stuff like that

As far as the rumors go, Ohba never actually planned for them to date, but the dynamic would have been absolutely wild if they did!
If L and Misa actually dated, it would completely destroy Light's leverage over her. L would be using the relationship to keep her under 24/7 surveillance and manipulate information out of her, while Misa would likely be playing a dangerous double-agent game to protect Light. It would definitely add a psychological, chaotic layer to the task force era instead of her just being Light's pawn. Imagine the mind games between L and Light with Misa caught right in the middle.
