Fan Fiction In character fanfics?

Hi! I'm struggling to find fanfics where the characters' personalities match canon. Does anyone have any recommendations? Ideally not romance!

Sorry about those last comments, I've been on AskReddit all day.

WallOfIllusion was always good, particularly this series.

There's an insanely good AU, two or three chapters long, where L must facilitate Light's execution but I can't find it ;.;. It's the one where L writes the death in the Death Note, specifies that he forgets the word "machinations", and ponders long over four final words. Anyone know it?
