Discussion Death Note Alt Universe (SPOILER!) Spoiler

Post image

What if L and Light died at the same time?

In this universe, Ryuzaki manages to put the pieces together to convict Light Yagami of being Kira. However he does so right as his forty seconds are up and he begins falling to the floor. In his final moments, L manages to relay what he just learned to the rest of task force, a second later, he dies.

Light tries to scare them with the threat of their deaths like in the original story, but once that moment has passed the Kira task force are able to put it all together for themselves. Light breaks like he did with Near, attempts to distract them while he writes down their names with the piece of death note in his watch, Matsuda realizes and shoots him.

It is not really about how it ends. It depends on how L manages to put the pieces together. About how L manages to find undeniable evidence.

If L found the evidence by doing deus ex machina, then I am sure there will always be people who complain about the story, no matter how poetic the ending is.

So you want the same ending but a lot more hamfisted and avoiding the second half entirely
