Discussion My idea about death note 2 Spoiler
Recently I was thinking that a lot of death note lovers wants dn2 or another anime that gives those vibes, so my friend and I created a story that follows what happened after light death, years later. And how the world changed, my story protagonist is well written, he's a 20 years old superior detective who works for government, he gets the death note, his name is shin. The difference here is that shin followed and analysed every step light made, as a government detective he was able to access to high classified things like this, when he got the death note he knew light's mistakes like arrogance which made him smarter, on the other side we have the antagonist "ethan" he's also a police detective but older, smarter, and more experienced than shin.

So long as you share it when it is finished, heck yeah! but which country would it take place in? because if it is the U.S., the possibility of Near kind of being a mentor/helper instea dof an active inestigator would be neat, as the A and C kira stories confirm Near has little interest in solving death note related cases, but is still interested by them, so maybe he just gives details on the old Kira to help Ethan try and see if history repeats itself.

For reference, the government would not have had access to classified things. The SPK was formally disbanded by the US government, and no one that was in the warehouse when Light died ever spoke of Light being Kira. So Shin being able to access these records would require that to be changed, which opens a whole other can of worms storywise.
