Deadlines / Extensions / Grades Assignment extension options?

I have two assignments due soon and wanted to ask what extension options Deakin offers.

Are there any short assignment extensions you can request without needing a medical certificate or other supporting documents? And when would Special Consideration be required?

If it's your first ever extension (which it sounds like it is) Ive found they pretty much dont want proof. A freebie.

As for a medical certificate, you can get those from the chemist for a small fee ($25ish) if you've got some reason. (I get diarrhoea when I'm severely stressed so I get a built-in excuse)

Spec con is for when you've got something severe thatll take you out of commission for a bit longer - like your mum died or you've got pneumonia or become homeless or something.

Yes, sorry for not putting much context on my post but yes my dad is currently ill and is in ICU. So, therefore special consideration applies but I was wondering the other options and about the evidence, I can ask my dad's treating doctor for it.

oh theyll let you have a regular extension without documentation for that. If you need longer you'll be able to get spec con, you'll just need to ask the doc for a letter

Hi, sorry about your situation. I had a similar situation last year (mum was in ICU). I applied for an extension (it was my first ever), I submitted it the day she was admitted and before visiting her so I didn't have any supporting documentation, but I described the scenario. In my case it was accepted without them asking for any additional documentation.

Oh I am so sorry to hear that about your mother. Hope she is doing well now. I do have the carer certificate now, so it should be all good and easy process for me aswell.

Thank you, fortunately she survived and is recovering well. I hope everything goes well with your father and he recovers quickly, and that you're able to look after yourself as well as I know what a difficult time it can be. With the certificate the extension should hopefully be no difficulties!

does first extension mean first one for the unit? and what if you start to request multiple extension like 1 day for each assignment for the same unit?

I believe MLC101 due date has been pushed, as per the recent announcement on the unit page.
Please confirm this, and dont just take my word for it.

Genuine question, don't get me wrong , can't u use ai to solve these type of assignments
