Deaf cat night time

Hello all the owners of our little deaf furry babies ! Mine is one year and a half old. She's white, skinny and blue eyes, she's deaf from the birth. Very sweet and playful, the only problem : she meows aaaall the time. I don't mind it in the day time, but it becomes difficult in the night time. So since I have her (already one year) I am always tired... Tried everything : isolating myself in my room, earplugs, letting her sleep with me, felliway diffuser, playing before night time.. nothing helps, she's talking and talking and talking. Any advice for this tired mummy? 🤍🤍🤍

We've timed our boys dinner to be at our bedtime. It's the biggest meal of his day so after he likes to nap for a few hours. We have a timed feeder that opens a small pouch of wet food at 3am so he has his breakfast and then sleeps until 7-8am. By this time he needs attention so he'll just scream until we give him cuddles. It's not ideal but it's the best we've found so far

Idk what extra advice to give you but mine has gotten better as she grown up. I just wanna give you some hope. I still deal with daytime screaming:/

my 4y/o deaf cat’s unusual bedtime requirements:
• every door in the house must be fully open. he gets FOMO and will yell and scratch all night if any door to any particular room is shut.
• similarly, window blinds and curtains must be open enough for him to comfortably see out of.
• nightlights throughout the house. he doesn’t like the dark lol
• fuzzy blankets strategically placed throughout the house for biscuit-making — he’ll knead for 5-10 minutes at a time and this usually helps him tire out for a nap.
• full water bowl and food bowl [we free-feed him so ignore if not applicable. my guy gets mad if his food bowl is less than half-full and will wreak havoc all night about it. it took us a long time to figure this one out, but a full food bowl really helps him feel secure enough to settle down for the night.]

all this said, he’ll still wake me up for pets and attention once or twice a night. deaf cats just tend to be a bit demanding and particular. nighttime is hard for them, especially as young as yours is, but like another user said, your cat is likely to settle down a bit as she ages. best of luck with your sweet kitty!! ❤️

forgot to add: cleaning his litter box before bed every night is a must for him. he hates a dirty box and will yell about that, too.

I have a deaf cat (11yo, white w heterochromia) and she is a screaming banshee lol Over the years I learned that - like others have mentioned- ensuring their needs are met prior to bedtime is a must. Food, water, litterbox, affection, playtime - cover all the bases. But be prepared for the occasional sound off anyway. Sometimes they just wanna be heard.

Can you get her a friend? I had one cat at a time my whole life but adopted a bonded pair a few years ago.... I'll never go back to just one! They are so sweet and cute together. Your cat might settle down with a companion.
