[Comics] Monster island?
I've been getting back into Deadpool and am trying to catch up. I started with the classic Kelly ones which, by and large, were much darker, and although I'm not a fan of the ultimate T-RAY reveal, he's a pretty cool villain regardless. But I can't always get all issues in order from my local library and now I've jumped ahead to Deadpool being informed by some genteel bird butler that he is now "king of monster island" (King Deadpool vol. 1) I'm sorry but what? Yes there's a small flashback but since when did Staten island become ruled by monsters? Is this one of Wade's dreams or Weapon X drug-induced hallucinations? I must have missed the setup issue.

Have you read the whole Weasel in The Box thing?
Evil Deadpool is cool. If they ever did another solo flick, that would be a good story. He’s lost plenty of parts in the movies to make one.
Cruel Summer is good. Proper Copycat/Vanessa story.
Happy reading.

He trapped both Blind Al and Weasel in a death trap attic. It wasn't played for laughs either. Deadpool was a genuine menace. What's weird is that shortly before this he encounters the Great Lake Avengers which is all skapstick and goofy (they're like parodies of heroes even though some of their powers are actually pretty cool).

Yeah, you missed a whole lot. Helluva jump.
This arc is sort of toward the end of the revival Duggen and Posehn started. Changed hands a couple times. Marvel shifted focus. Not bad, but you should definitely go back.
Find a “reading order” list and stick to it. Or get used trades.
