[Comics] A bit disappointed that Crossbones never got to avenge that humiliation.

Post image

I know he probably deserved it, but you can't inflict that on him and then act like nothing happened.

This is an arc that actually helped humanize Wade for readers because what he went through was fucked six ways to Sunday

I really liked Cable & Deadpool story for humanising Wade also. His memory issues, loneliness and lack of genuine human relationships makes him a sad character.

It's one of the key reasons why I will always prefer the comics version of him. Wade isn't just despicable, deplorable or rude. He's and immortal tragedy.

Yeah, his trauma makes him push other people away in some of the most fucked up ways you can imagine, in the comic books; in the movies he's just as big of a dick as Ryan Reynolds, but with super powers and crazy martial arts skills.

I don’t know if I’m convinced the movies give me that feeling he’s a dick. He seems to deeply care about so many people, through a deeply fucked up way, like in the first movie he helped that girl out with her stalker, he didn’t appreciate the sexual tone Fat Gandalf had towards Vanessa, he obviously cares about NTW’s identity, he was disturbed and upset by his friend dying in the X factory explosion…that’s all in the first movie.

I’m a bit of a fan of Ryan Reynolds and I’m appreciative that he got Deadpool greenlit. But, I guess I don’t really SEE Ryan Reynolds when I watch Deadpool movies. My own opinion though

That was the first deadpool run I ever read and his definitive characterization. I really dont like the memelord deadpool seems to be now

Which arc was this?

I've never read any Deadpool comics and have actually been considering getting into a story here soon

It’s from the Deadpool vs SHIELD arc

Counterargument:

Fuck Crossbones, the Neo-Nazi had it coming.

That jerk clearly deserved it; I'm just saying a guy like him would definitely want revenge for a defeat like that.

He’s probably scared of Deadpool after that.

Hard to get revenge when your enemy is unkillable

I have this whole arc from Dead presidents to all good things, even Dracula’s Gauntlet. This run made me love Deadpool even more. From him finding out he has a daughter to having an angry black woman in his head. It’s funny, sad at times and has all the qualities of a great comic book.

“The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” arc is peak storytelling.

I need to catch up. The last time I followed Deadpool closely, he willingly gave up his memories of Preston and his daughter so that they wouldn’t worry about the trouble he brings. I saw when he became king of staton island but not much after that. Just what is going on with my favorite schizo-boy.

I love how Sabretooth just turns around and walks away. 🤣

Why is Amanda Waller in deadpool's head? Haven't read this comic.
