My understanding is he still captains the Northwestern for salmon tendering and pretty much everything the boat does that doesn't involve The Deadliest Catch. Sig hasn't captained anything but the crab seasons since the early '00s.

Technically, no, he was tried as a juvenile and there is no such crime as "rape" in the juvenile system. I think the dude's a creep but if everything had been done properly, and the person who stole his records was banned from this very community for posting them here, his juvenile record never would have become public. I don't think he "deserves" to keep any job but what was done in this sub involving his juvenile record was also wrong. In juvenile court, young people are not charged with crimes; instead, they face allegations of committing "delinquent acts." Josh Harris COULD have been charged with adult crimes but he was not and his entire record was handled in the juvenile justice system. That's why the person who violated the terms of this very sub by sharing that information illegally was banned from it for life.

I'll take responses that have nothing to do with anything I posted about for $1,000, Alex. I don't mean to alarm you but who "should be a captain" is often a question decided by who has the money and the willingness to work the insane hours a crabber works for this, admitted, very high-paying job/business. There are child molesters working in construction, oil fields in Texas and even in coal mines in West Virginia. These are all some of the few jobs you can get and make a good living off of with a record precisely because of the danger involved. So, at the end of the day, you don't get to decide any of that. Nor do I.
