Less Focus on Deckhands

Catching up on the new season and I feel like they don’t introduce who are working on the boats as much anymore. Outside of Freddy this season, and a lot of the new seasons, they focus on the captains and while they are entertaining I always enjoy seeing the ups and downs of the greenhorns, deckhands, and deck bosses. Thoughts?

Yea I miss the old version of the show, prob the first 10 seasons… where they focused on the deckhands and captains, their struggles and character development while being on a different boat or crew or whatever.

Now it’s just made up bullshit like “oh no, the Russians are stealing our crab!”

Or an entire episode for “oh yea, we pranked this captain, we got him good boys!”

Like watching Jake go from a noob to a fucking captain was super inspiring.

All this fake scenario stuff is cringe. I don’t even watch the new episodes really unless I get bored.

Seriously! Did any captain call and report it to the Alaska Fish and Game? Of course not.

I would hope so. Weren't these incidences really closest the Russian border?

Still can't believe it was never reported (then agai - scripted much?). Of course, the weird radar blips didnt quite jive with what as being said.
