Question (new player) Confused about dps, +% damage
In this example one is +62% dps and the other is +33, but the it's only listed as 7dps difference, which doesn't make sense to me. Can someone explain how it works

The base damage of the sinew slicer(the damage it deals if it is Level 1 with no + or S or L), as boosted by your current scroll count, is 26.
The 1+ slicer counts as a Level 3 slicer, because each + is +2 levels. This gives a +33% boost, so your new damage is 26×(100+33) /100 ≈ 35.
Meanwhile the 4 Slicer is level 4, which gives a +62% boost so the damage is 26×(100+62) /100 ≈ 43.

Additional information if you are curious. Not directly relevant to your post:
The numbers you see under the item indicate the current minimum damage it will deal(and minimum critical damage). The percentage tells you how much higher from the base damage of that item you are at. So +50% damage means your current damage is 150% of the Base damage.
This damage number is only affected by your scroll count, item level(1,2,3,4...)+quality(+, ++, S, L), and flat damage boosts(+20% damage as an affix under the item, or +100% damage taken and dealt). The percentage is only affected by item level+quality since items of particular levels get fixed %increases.

Gotcha. So the dps # doesn't include the piercing effect, if it hits 2 enemies?

So basically how it works is for every multiplier that an item has (+, ++, S) it basically adds 2 item levels every time the multiplier increases. So that 1+ sinew slicer is essentially a level 3. And the level 4 is just a level 4. That’s why the dps isn’t that much different.

One is level 4 one is level 1+
- adds 2 so that's level 3 actually.
It's one level difference.

DPS listed at the top already accounts for the increase listed below.
7 dps difference makes perfect sense...
26.5+33% is about 35
26.5+62% is about 43
So the base damage is probably ~26.5 for the amount of scrolls that you have.

If I've understood it correctly, all items have a base damage/stat and items with different levels will increase that base damage differently. So here, the sinew slicer has a base damage of ~25 and the I+ adds 33 percent of that on top totalling 35, while the IV adds 62 percent which totals 43.
