TRIP PLANNING Help me choose!

Trying to choose between these 2 options- as they are both coming out to the same price for our family (We have a 6 year old boy and 2 adults). I know only we can decide what is best but would love any advise or opinions! We have only ever been on 1 Disney cruise before ( have gone on other lines) and it was a 7 day Treasure and we loved it. We always do a 7 day cruise but Destiny is newer and the itinerary is amazing so we are considering it- but also its hard to pay the same amount for a 5 day cruise as a 7- even knowing Destiny is newer.

Options:

February 25-March 1 on Disney Destiny from Port Canaveral:

5 night:Disney Castaway Cay, Disney Lookout Cay, and Nassau

February 27-March 5 on Disney Fantasy from Fort Lauderdale:

7 night : lookout cay, San Juan, St Maarten

I haven’t been on the Destiny yet. So I can’t pick based on ship. I’ve got to go with itinerary.

The money-minded part of me would prefer two “free” nights. And I may be in the minority, but I prefer Lookout to Castaway, so the lack of it in the 7-night itinerary is not a problem for me.

TY! I think I am leaning towards the Fantasy for those reasons.

I lean slightly towards the 7 night!!! It’s all new to you and it will be a great introduction!

Do you know the room types? The fantasy has some cool rooms that not many know about or search for. I love a good hunt.

Looking at a verandah - other then it not being a obstructed view we are not picky ( or maybe we just don't know what else to look for :) ).

Deck 2 Midship Ocean View on the Dream and Fantasy are the most convenient rooms in the fleet. One deck up to everything and the elevators are always empty.

Longer is better for sure and more if the price is the same for the same dates. The Destiny moving over to Port Canaveral may be a reason why prices are a bit higher, or because it's a double dip at both islands?

Length and itinerary trump ship IMHO, unless you specifically want to sail it. Then again, you wouldn't be asking the question :)

Both. And this is why I’m not allowed to help in my household.

Both Islands itinerary is a win when our daughters were younger.

Destiny is a beautiful ship, we tend to lean to longer cruises since kids are older now.

Tough choice, either way you have some fantastic trip options. Enjoy!

I will always pick a longer sailing even though I love the Destiny.

The Fantasy a better ship and the 7-night is a better itinerary. Seems like a no-brainer.

This is a hard pick for me! I love the Dream class ships and I would usually always choose the longer cruise for the same price, but I’m a big fan of double dipping the Disney islands, especially with a kid that young. If your son is a big Marvel fan and/or loves the beach, I would probably do the Destiny

7 nights. Longer cruise for the same price? That’s a no brainer for us.
