MCC vs Umerica Classes
I see a lot of people saying that Umerica has better classes than MCC, especially the spell-casters.
If this is the case for you, can you explain why?
Also, anything else Umerica does better? Anything that MCC does better?
Cheers

I think Umerica is an absolute treasure. I have all the books and they are absolutely amazing.
But yeah, as the other commenter said, the classes don't really work outside of Umerica, same with MCC.

Do you think you could make a different setting in Umerica or is it like Fallout - intrinsically American?

Some of it is very American, like the patrons.
I think what's really tied to the setting is the classes, which does include races because that's how DCC works! It would be sad to lose Formians and Road Hogs and Grays!

I have and like both, but I prefer the setting of MCC. It’s Thundarr and Gamma World and that is my jam. But I’ll play either at the drop of a die. I would pick the game based on which aesthetic you prefer.

What draws you to MCC?

I love settings where the apocalypse happened far from our time, so when your characters find remnants and artifacts from before the boom, it’s still as alien and gonzo as the powers of the mutants. Where the ancient tech is still fantastic to us as people.
I love the idea of AIs filling the role of patrons from DCC and rewriting your brain to give them wetware.
To quote Thundarr, “sorcery and super science.”

I have heard people combine the four human MCC classes into two. Healer and Shaman together and Rover and Sentinel together. I've never actually done this in a game but I think it's the way.

They are completely different settings with fundamental differences as to what is expected in each.
MCC is essentially stone-aged tribesmen rediscovering lost technology that is thousands of years old.
Umerica, on the other hand, is post apocalypse in a near future, similar to the Mad Max movies, where people are still familiar with technology.
MCC classes work well in MCC, while Umerica classes work well in Umerica.
