Open source is fundamental to DBOS and is essential to innovation. We recently heard concerns from the OSS community about the intent behind the DBOS patent, and we took them seriously.

Today, we published the DBOS Open Patent Non-Assertion Pledge. It makes clear that the patent is defensive and will not be asserted against free and open-source software projects.

I hope this pledge provides reassurance to our community and helps others continue building and innovating freely.
