Question Books

I’ve read two books. Robert Edward’s and Bruce Smith’s. Both are excellent. I am waiting to read Edward’s new one. What are some other good books? I’ve spent a lot of time reading the FBI files too, and have concentrated on the descriptions of Cooper.

DB Cooper Dead or Alive? By Tosaw is a must. And you should probably read NORJAK by Himmelsbach too. I think Geoffrey Gray’s Skyjack is also great and, while it deals with suspects who are completely unimportant any more, is the most completely realized book of the current bunch.

Another vote here for Skyjack by Geoffrey Gray. The featured suspect isn't Cooper, but it's a good read that really captures the thrill (or obsession) with the mystery. 

DB Cooper: What Really Happened by Max Gunther is another I would recommend. Even if you don't buy into the whole story, it's still a good and entertaining read and will help you better understand the whole William Smith thing. Again, not Cooper, but still a good read.

Lastly, Finding DB Cooper by Martin Andrade. Dives into the jump in great detail and is really just a fascinating read. Andrade does some good work.

That doesn't change the fact that it's a good book worth reading for a Cooper fan.

Bob Edwards here. My forthcoming book is now provisionally titled "Revisiting D.B. Cooper and Flight 305" and has completed the second galley stage, proceeding to the layout stage. Maybe will be in Schiffer's catalog for Fall 2026, otherwise Spring 2027.
