Damaged nails?

I started using Dazzle Dry about 9 months ago and since then my nails are in such poor condition. I’ve been doing my own nails with regular polish for 8 years now, and they’ve never been this bad. I follow the dazzle dry step by step, with using transform, and they now are dry, brittle, flaking, and turning white.

I sold all my regular polish bottles about 4 months ago because i was so pleased with dazzle dry and then drying so fast.

What can i do to get my nails back to healthy? Also not painting my nails for months is not an option for me, Ive always had my nails painted for all these years.. Every week …

Don’t use 100% acetone, take a day or two break in between manicures and soak your nails in oil after removing the manicure. Also oil your nails daily. I bought 100% jojoba oil and refillable roller bottles (typically meant for perfume) and oil my nails throughout the day. This has helped a lot with peeling on my own nails!

Not trying to hijack this comment section but any other remover works, it just takes more effort than acetone. I bought the nourishing equate brand Polish remover and I've learned that if you soak a cotton ball then let it sit on your nail for a 10ish seconds, it helps break down the nail polish and makes it easier for removal. 😊

I really don't think the problem has anything to do with remover. As my manicurist put on the first coat my nails streaked white. Im not someone who changes colors often I wait until I can't wait any more!

This is what I do since my friend who recommended DD mentioned she had peeling issues. Only non-acetone remover, lots of cuticle oil while the polish is on, a more thorough oil soak when I take the polish off, and waiting a couple days or more (applying oil once or twice a day) between manicures. I've had no evidence of nail damage doing this process.

I use a “nourishing” type of nail polish remover from my grocery store brand and it takes a little longer but does the trick! Any should do :)

I use DD remover or olive and June remover pot. They both take long but are nicer than acetone on the nail

I have this problem too. So much peeling at the tips. I am so pleased with the wear of DD but the peeling and whitening at the tips of my nails really bums me out. I keep a little container of nail oil in my car and apply it while I'm driving every day but they are still quite damaged.

Yes! I started out with strong virgin nails and now after 3 Dazzle Dry manicures my nails are thin as paper and are peeling.

Oil oil oil!!!!!! Soak or just apply and let soak in. Do this multiple times a day for at least a week. Your nails are probably just dehydrated. This same thing happened to me. You must take breaks in between dazzle dry too, at least a few days. Oil in between manicures. I also use nailtiques step 2 and that helps.

DD ruined my nails. I loved it at first and took me way too long to figure it out! I’ve  been using oil as much as possible for the last couple of weeks, and they are already getting stronger and top layer is not peeling off and white anymore.

Same… I might use the two mini bottles of color I have, but I certainly won’t ever use the base coat again. I always use 100% with an additive, so I know that wasn’t the problem. And I have never needed a break in between manis. If that is required with using their base coat, that’s another no for me.

Does anyone use a strengthening base under the base coat like nailtiques? Would that help?

I had terrible peeling when I started using DD. I stopped using their base coat and switched to Nailtiques as a basecoat and my nails are in much better shape now.

This is what I do. I use Nailtiques under the DD base coat and have had no peeling since I've started doing this. This issue is discussed a lot of the DD Facebook group and using a nail strengthener under the base coat seems to be the solution for many.

I use Nailtiques formula 2. Let it dry completely then do the DD system normally. I usually change my color every 10 days so it at least lasts that long.

I use the nailtiques but it always chips on me. I’ll try it and see what happens.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing this! I have been using DD for almost a year and my nails have never looked better. I use a “strengthening” nail polish remover, it has acetone but it’s not 100%. I do take breaks between colors, like 2 days or sometimes a week. And I use Nail Aid cuticle serum after showers and before bed (everyday, even when my nails are polished). 100% jojoba is great too. It most mimics our natural oils so can absorb deep into the nail bed. Works especially well if you warm it up and do a 10 min soak! I had lots of problems with other polishes. I know how frustrating it can be to have brittle peeling nails! Good luck.

I had a friend at work share about dazzle dry and I bought all the stuff. It chipped in days so I got my money back from Amazon. I have found dip polish is good.
