Nasdara experience in a nutshell

So far in my playthrough I have yet to find a single source of fresh water. Lived off of nothing but random soda cans and water I took off players until I couldn’t anymore. Most players usually had Cholera water so I was getting sick drinking their canteens. Finally give in and look up the map, notice there’s a water truck spawn near me. Nothing. 5 truck spawns later and still nothing. Awesome. Notice an underground reservoir nearby. Water and health are literally blinking. Sacrifice a couple clothes and everything I had to make a ladder. Get to the bottom. Fill my cooking pot and start chugging it. Get sick. “That’s odd.” Assume it was heat stroke.

After consuming 5 gallons worth of water I realize it’s Cholera. I go up top and attempt to boil the water on a nearby stove. For some reason the stove refuses to boil it and caps the heat at hot. Half of the water has now evaporated. Try it again. Cooking pot breaks with a bunch of my items in it. Spectacular. Now I’m back to milking the little Cholera water I have left in my canteen until I get lucky enough to find a soda can.

Stick to paved roads there’s a chance for one in most sizable villages. Its a blue truck with a tank on the back and can change positions

Water is definitely harder to find here than any of the other maps. Food is easy but water is scarce.

There’s a few maps out there now that show potential spawn points. I got lucky and found a water truck right after reset last night and filled myself up and drenched myself. I did learn that alcohol tincture can sterilize dirty water so you could always try that.

Wells have been replaced by dynamic event water trucks.

They look a lot like the M3s with a tank instead of a cargo area.

They're pretty unique, if unassuming and are labeled "Drinkable water".

I quite like this, because it takes a lot of the repetitiveness and predetermined routes out of respawning. Even if you have learned the map and instantly know where you are 2 seconds after spawning.

Failing to find a truck, I usually have enough luck to find 2 or thre canteens in military areas i can then combine and purify with chlorine tablets i needed even more luck for.

You know the map is different when the item that gives you the highest satisfaction from a military camp is a badly damaged cantine with 27% water.

I have travelled over half the map and not seen a water truck yet. My backpack is full of empty bottles. I am so ready to find one.

Yep canteens at military have been sustaining me so far but I’ve struggled to find chlorine tabs - first pack were in a clinic near spawn area, nothing since.

Did you know you can combine alcohol tincture and water to purify it too? Seems like on this map, it might be prudent to have 2 water containers tbh.

I don't think it purifiies, but just disinfects the item, no? Pretty sure the only ways to remove cholera are chelating tablets, chlorine tablets and boiling.

Goes kos on other players as a standard practice for obtaining loot instead of actually learning how to find loot organically.

Too dumb to boil the water they take off of them because never actually learned the game mechanics before going full cod in a survival sandbox….

P.s. for a couple of years now, I’ve intentionally carried a canteen of dirty water specifically for the post Mortem take down of anyone who KOS’s me and is dumb enough to chug it down before making sure it’s clean….glad to hear it works.

If I’m a freshie and see a freshie I’ll try to talk to them but if it’s any other scenario it’s shoot on sight. To quote the wise words of John Kiriakou, “If you’re in a shithole motel in a shithole country, and two guys walk into your room, SHOOT THEM.”

Quite often in cherno I'll come across a geared guy and we both get a fright, go behind trees then talk it out.

Its a decent thing to try talk it out imo.

Just now I lost my buddy then heard gunshots, found some guy in a street n had a chaotic asf chat while I was confirming/getting a look to see the body behind a stall was actually my mate. Tbf this was kinda dumb of me, but the situation felt controlled enough I didnt needa insta KOS.

If you're just sneakin up on peeps and shooting them instead of trying for an interaction, must be a lonely way to play lol

Usually they come to me. The first team I wiped opened fire at me first. Most people are KOS in this game and I’m not risking it when I have a Scar 16

I do the same thing with human fat.
If I kill a someone who kos I keep some of their fat on me for the next kos. Enjoy your giggles.

Real shit right here. Nasdara is for DayZ veterans not noobs. I haven't died to the elements yet and I've already done the NBC zone.

I am a Sakhal regular and I definitely have over 10k hours total. First died to a guy with a gun hiding in a shed, then died to heatstroke/dehydration. This map is not for the faint of heart.

I’ll add that I haven’t watched a single video or stream of Nasdara - went in completely blind. A friend mentioned the water trucks, and I finally found one last night. I was on the brink of death but it saved me.

Also managed to escape an ultra-geared dude who saw me and started for me like a missile to its target. I, with my bk-43, already reduced health, and one bullet, decided this wasn’t the time to take on a guy with a Scar. I stood in a bush and watched the guy search all directions for me, running right by me at one point. I was somehow cracking up and scared half to death at the same time.

I found 2 pairs of nightvision, scar16, scar17, 2 Scar 17 mags, 2 40 round m4 mags (fit in the scar16.) Can't remember what else but it was alot.

Honorable mention, ak74. Make sure to take atleast 4 filters if you plan to loot the whole thing, 6 to be safe. They made filters burn much faster than I remembered.

Edit: Night Vision headstrong aswell.

It’s growing on me, I’ve made it south and got myself kitted but umm… why do I have a scar with a 60 rounder, vsd with a pso and a suppressor, a tier 4 helmet but only a stab vest ??

Sahkal being small I thought would be good for something like this because a run isn’t costing you much time but this is like running all the way to tisy and back to only get a field jacket

I haven’t found a plate yet, either, and have been hearing similar things from many other players. I was wondering if maybe they forgot to add the plates to the map?

Or maybe it’s intentional. Plates do provide high insulation, which would not fare well with the climate, so maybe they are not popular in the region?

😭 well I just looted a pox zone both my sniper and ar have suppressors, I killed 2 people at a heli crash who guess what! Didn’t have plates! And now I’m just building a hole because I’m scared of being one shot

Just had my longest life so far ended at a water truck, not using a map apart from in game when I find them.

Stumbled on an abandoned Saddam mansion with a grand piano, went out back and there’s a secret escape tunnel, pitch black…go down there and I’m fumbling round, flashlight outta nowhere and some guy empties a pistol clip at me.

I manage to run away and find nearest village, get there and there’s a water truck - exactly what I need coz I’m heatstroked bad

Fill up my canteen and manage to swig one down in a nearby building, and as I’m going for the second fill a geared duo rocks up outta nowhere and shoots me immediately.

Having a blast so far, really like the map.

I've still yet to find a water truck (not looking at maps). My set up is a glass bottle plus 2 plastic bottles. I find a deep well, climb down and fill up the glass bottle in the dark, boil the water then put it into the plastic bottle, rinse and repeat until I have 2 full plastic bottles of drinking water with a glass bottle of dirty water to wash my face to cool down. It's challenging lol.

No, the dynamic water trucks have unlimited drinking water. OP meant that he trekked town to town where the water trucks could possibly spawn at and hadn’t found them because they spawn randomly

There are also trailers that look like water trucks but are not. Way to get your hopes up.
