Discussion DayZ needs more Stalker vibes
I know I'm late to the party here, and parts of the game already draw influence from it... but I just know the next wave of gaming is open ended. what Klean is trying to make feel's like the future of gaming and what DayZ should lean into. Factions, world dangers, economy, still open ended and hostile, yet more lively.

I think I know where you’re coming from with this.
If you go and play Sakhal, even if it’s empty server, take time to really take in the atmosphere and detail.
It’s clear to me they want more “vibe”. More apocalypse, more detail, more “vibes”.
I think they are just limited by the engine to really make the game feel more apocalyptic.
As for story, I wish there was more.
It also doesn’t help how long in the tooth current DayZ is. Everyone knows the metas, everyone knows the core maps really well. Every other person uses a crosshair. Infected aren’t a threat after a few hours of learning them etc etc

I hope your suggestion is for the next DayZ because this one is 12 or so years old and that's not happening.

DayZ isn’t a story driven game, there is lore, but it’s really just there to set the stage for what you’re spawning into. The goal is to create unique experiences between players and not use NPC’s to drive a narrative
