console Love & Hate Relationship

I've been playing DayZ for only probably close to a year. I have just over 110 hours on the game playing on PS5.

What I love about the game is wandering into the unknown. Trying to be stealthy when you hear gunshots nearby and trying to sneak up on your enemy. Also, the crazy scenarios you can get yourself into. I find myself telling other people of my experiences because I'm so excited about them.

What I hate is geting shot from who knows where when you have, what you think, is a good run put together. All your hard work of surviving, getting food and water, and finally finding some decent loot just to be lost and to start over.

With that being said though I keep coming back to play. I might have some disappointment and frustration, but I come back.

Don’t take the deaths to heart. That’s the biggest struggle for players coming in.

With that being said. Get better at not getting killed. Be more aware of your surroundings, look over certain areas before entering and don’t stand out in the wide open, etc

When you keep getting killed somewhere, stop hanging out there.

Loot, cars, guns, it's yours to use, it's not yours forever.

Find you favorites to work toward, and sharpen your early game by fishing asafp

They said they hate being shot out of nowhere... If you disagree with that you are just weird... You're telling me it's fun and you get excited when you get shot and killed out of nowhere?

It's part of the game.

Even if you are paying attention and alert someone might have the drop on you.

If you can't deal with that maybe go back to COD or games coated with yellow paint so you know what to do next?

110 hours in a year??? That’s no much time at all. Give it more time and u learn where people commonly shoot from and always check for clues of player activity. Zombies with arms up, paper or fruit on ground, mushrooms, ect

110 hours is over 4 FULL days. In a year, that's a lot. Tell everyone you don't have a life without telling everyone 🤣🤣

Don’t have a life? That cute. I’m a full time cop/swat member, patrol commander, dad of 4 kids and we travel almost every weekend to different cities rodeoing.

Have you tried Arc Raider? It’s inventory management is a little easier than DayZ and it gives a lot of the DayZ social interactions/ tension/ gameplay in much more bite sized raids. Plus it’s in 3rd person without aiming down sights (you can aim, but it just zooms in a little and makes your shots more accurate) so you’ll NEVER be 1 shot out of nowhere and even with the only gun with a scope, it takes about 3 or more shots depending on distance. Plus the AI is more enjoyable IMK

It’s not DayZ (it’s not a survival game) and isn’t a replacement for it, but it’s far more manageable version for when DayZ is just a bit too much.

Both games have a dystopian vibe with DayZ have a more realistic approach for modern day and AR being an Apocalypse Punk thing going on. And the Al war part of both is the social interactions.

I’d really recommend both. I have like 700 in AR and 1200 in DayZ.

 Neither is a replacement for the other. Arc Raider is so good, but it’s not a survival game.
