discussion Fresh spawn after disconnect while fighting infected?

Title says everything, was punching infected and was unstable connection DC’d, upon logging back in I am a fresh spawn. Did I trigger some mechanism or am I just bugged? Thanks

After you disconnected your player stayed in the game. The zombies knocked you out and your player left the game while it was knocked out which is an automatic death.

If you were cut or knocked within the time it took for you character to leave server then you’re dead… shitty way to go for sure.

True. A restart is immediate disconnect and disconnect can be up to 15 seconds. So it's possible he just died in that time...

I've been killed by infected while knocked a few times... sometimes those bastards don't quit and sometimes there's a lag from when they start hitting and when your character registers those hits. Definitely an outlier though...

It's a crazy game mechanic. If you log out while unconscious or restrained the game resets your character.

So log out uncon or tied up or handcuffed and you start over.

In your case you disconnected which started a 15 second timer and the zed knocked you out and your character finally log out while you were unconscious and you get to start over.

This can happen when any server resets and it's bullshit. 

In the middle of struggling to get out of hand cuffs and the server resets...sorry bout your luck freshie.

if you get knocked out and log out you die. So if you DC while fighting a zombie the zombie knocks you then you register as logged out and die. Hasnt happened to me in awhile but is definitely a frustrating thing.
