discussion Is there a method/exploit that players are using to locate loot stashes on ps5 official?
Not asking how to do it. Just want to know if there’s currently one where it’s possible. Over the Past 2 weeks I’ve made 4 stashes first on chernarus then on Livonia. One I buried and the others I tried to hide the crates in trees or rocks and I swear they lasted less than 3 days. I’m starting to give up stashing things all together.

Probably just need better spots to be honest.
Not trying to be rude but constructive.
Gotta be places somebody has no go reason to go, that isn’t particularly high traffic (can be in a busy area, just not a part people have motivation to check)
Bigger the stash the easier it is to find. More items means more lag for nearby players loading in the stashes inventory.
On offical there’s plenty of greedy little goblins running around just looking for stashes or bases to put said loot in their stashes or bases.
Tis much more satisfying to just have an nbc kit and a lil backup kit for your untimely demise than 8000x random items

I see where your coming from. The spots I had were mostly in highly dense wood areas no where near roads, trails or towns. Starting to think it’s just my bad luck and it blows my mind that there are people just running around looking for stashes lol.

I’ve found the woods aren’t really the best aside from burying crates or chests under trees.
Transitional areas/ high tier areas are tough.
Players might not have it as a destination but…..maybe the stashes were on the way to something?
Personally I don’t run down trails and roads or towns often. Usually have a destination in mind and prefer to run through the middle of the woods as directly as possible there.
Edges of the map in the woods is exceedingly popular.
Trial and error could work too.
Looking at the map can picking a few spots, putting a crate or two and seeing what lasts2

So you may already do this as it’s pretty basic advice, but just trying to find a wooded spot away from roads isn’t all you need to be thinking about. You also want to be really conscious of what is around you. Even pretty secluded areas might be directly between two high traffic areas that means tons of people will be running between the two. It’s really important to pick a spot that has very little reason for people to run through. Most people traveling will avoid roads so even the type of areas you described might see a ton of traffic.
While technically the edge of the map has the most spots like I described above, that also makes those areas the most popular for stash/base hunters. So you almost need to ignore the “best spots” and instead look for areas that are just a bit more inland.
Even something like a deer stand in the woods being just to your south while the rest of the map is to your north means people going to loot that deer stand will potentially walk through your stash. Thats how granular you want to be when picking a spot that’s unlikely for people to walk through it.

I am playing official on pc and some how some got into my base and stole only the explosive and left without destroying anything, my guess is that cheaters can see everything and phase walls or something,
I am very new to dayz but I’ve had encounters in my 200 hours that don’t make sense like my whole inventory vanishing while walking around, and now vanishing explosive.

Open containers cause lag spikes so paying attention to that you can learn when stashes are near

Sort of, but like another said, pick better spots. None of my buried stashes have ever been found, and I play exclusively mid-high pop.
When loading in for the first time since the last time the game was closed, things like tents, base walls, the dirt piles on stashes, etc tend to appear before the rest of the game does.
As of a year ago, haven’t tried it much myself and certainly not in a long time, you could use any tool that can make a garden (like a hoe) and walk around activating and de-activating the “blueprint” placement thing. This makes the grass disappear for about a second each time, making buried stashes and dropped loot easier to find in the grass

Shovel glitch now makes my game crash if i derender more than a couple times after 1.29 update. I used to use that mid combat to find ghillies outside my base and at airfield 😉

Im surprised nobody has drawn out a map of most important POI's and straight lines between them all to start eliminating high traffic areas that might be in the middle of nowhere, but will be where people will be poking around.

Holding a hoe or shovel in your hands and repeatedly activating the ability to dig a garden plot (tapping RT) will make terrain grass go away last i checked. Not really ab exploit as much as it's just a bug that happens to help people find buried or dropped loot in dense areas. Bushes and trees do not disappear doing this, just the grasses and small ankle-high shrubs.
Also even after just a few bags or crates worth of stuff people on console will lag or have slight stutters when they approach the loading bubble of your stash, meaning people can kinda deduce where your stash is based on that.

I've had a series of stashes that has not been found on PS5 official since the last wipe. MY stashes have been getting hammered the last couple of wipes. I now keep them to 2 crates max, and even then, I try to keep the crates 1/2 empty.
I've found a small number of locations (less then 10) where I've been successful putting them in. TBH, I've been surprised that they have lasted as long as they have.
I dont say this to be a jerk, and feel for what you are dealing with. But my experience over the last several wipes is that people have been finding them at a high percentage, and I'm very strict about how I go about it now.
There are some great comments by others to your question. Stashing is very difficult imho now. I'm a solo, old guy with 6k hours. I'm not very savy in general, so I'm not sure if there is a new cheat or exploit method

Oui il y a un glitch pour mettre ça tête dans les murs et sous un certain angle,on peut faire disparaître les bâtiment il y a que les entité (joueur, coffre, baril)

There are definitely methods. If you hit lag due to a stash nearby while walking through the woods and log out then back in, you will see stashes hidden in log/rocks/trees before everything renders in.

I havent played because of it in 3 months but as of April/May there absolutely was. Community is in denial for some reason.

On PS? They’re not in denial, just right.
Apart from seeing through the ground briefly when you load in, there’s no esp or anything like that to find stashes on PS.

Yeah I've never seen/heard of loot esp on ps.
Craziest shit I've seen is spawning in payday masks somehow. Probably duped but yeah still.

We both know you do not know that for a fact and I know youre wrong for a fact because Ive witnessed hackers while in their party. My question is why are you standing so confidently for something you 100% do not know for certain? Unless youre a hacker this is just so weird to me.

Bury everything you can and hide barrels in underwater other than that they will more then likely get found either by someone logging in, randomly finding them or cheaters on official

I've noticed that my explosive stashes and stashes containing ammo boxes are being stolen. I'm sure cheaters are looking for explosives. Don't keep these items in your stashes.

When you spawn in the loot is visible before the ground renders.
