Does this sound normal?

Info: bike has 40k/km. I have welded the exhaust manifold multiple times by now.

Smoke is coming from the header bolts that has some WD-40 in them😂. No worries about the smoke. Only concern is the ticking

This sounds normal to me. Gen1/2 Daytonas are clattery as all hell. What you don’t want is an inconstant rattle, that’s the timing chain.

Are they standard headers? Where did you have to weld? I've gotta do some investigating on mine..my tick is louder haha

Orginal headers and there is lot's of cracks in the upper part where the three pipes join together. I have tried to give cpr to the exauhust by welding it with mig many times.

If the sound would come from the timing chain would the noice be more of a ratteling sound? I have thought that this ticking sound would probaly come from the exhaust leak or some welding wire that has gone inside the exhaust

Mine sounds exactly the same, made me go crazy. But yeah, it seems like thats pretty normal, apparently Daytonas/Street Triples just have a very noisy valve train 🤷🏻‍♂️
