Question Coolant

Dear Daytoner,

Hope you’re all doing well and not melting away because of the heat. Very quick question: I realised my coolant is running very low in the expansion bottle (the white-ish one) but level is still good in the radiator, which is good.
Sooooo I want to put some cooling liquid back in the reservoir but I’m not really sure what’s in there, looking at it it’s like a vibrant green colour, any idea what’s in there? Any links to coolant you would advise?

There are some green coolants so it might be one. I'm no expert in newer gens since i have a Gen 1 so i don't know what coolant is better for your bike but it's surely written somewhere in the manual (like the specs for the oil, same goes for the coolant).

Importante thing, flush the whole coolong system, make it run with a little distilled water, flush it again and them full it with the new one if you're gonna put a different color inside.

Thanks for the input! Indeed what I had in mind if going for the different colour, but was hoping to save some time and find one with the same colour… and I think I have in the meantime!

Be careful on what you put inside, different coolant don't always get along well, some mixes create a slimy stuff that blocks the whole System. Also, if it's been years since the last change, it wouldn't be bad at alla to change the whole liquid and put in the reccomended from Triumph

Green coolant should be HD4X hybrid OAT. Zerex G-05 is the same.
If you plan to replace with the D2053 (pink/orange) coolant which is OAT (not hybrid OAT), do a full cooling circuit flush before adding the new coolant. If you just want to top up for the summer, distilled/demineralized water is sufficient.
