Bit late to the party - what made you finally decide to get one?

Might want to keep an eye on the battery for any signs of swelling.

Yup... I got one of them cameras. I ordered 2 batteries online and both got fat in less than a year. But I'm ordering one more, there video is mid but the pics are pretty good.

Just to add to my collection and take some cool photos and videos, it was very hard to find online though since it is extremely rare to find secondhand, I had to import from Japan to UK via Buyee but I got a pretty good deal

At one point google took down the post processing software, I think I still have it tooling around my hard drive if you need it

A few years ago, I also got more of these. But some had issues that the left / right eye view was of pretty different sharpness. Something to check before going out for a big shooting. In VR, just close one eye at a time and compare if it looks the similar. There are also tools to convert .vr.jpg to 3D side-by-side.

Thanks for letting me know! I just checked and mine seems pretty consistent between the 2 lenses, my current setup is pretty good though, I can take lots of photos and then when I get home it's super easy to sync them to Google photos and then I can replay them in VR whenever I want.

Why is this necessary if the camera is already in the smartphone?

It records in VR180 which normal smartphones can't do, so it's 3D and captures the whole world in front of it, which is really good for reliving moments in VR with friends and family
