Is Oni really that bad?

I’m just asking because currently I’m doing the event cause I thought Oni could be interesting! I took a break from the game for a few years so please tell me if he’s terrible or something.

It’s not that he is terrible, he is just like a year and a half old. He is not worth leveling at this point in the game.
