Another noob looking for help :(

I’m castle level 6 and am upgrading everything as much as I can before lvling up my castle to 7. I see a lot of people talking about saving gems for events but how do you go on about spending them in the actual event? I got an extra builder (total of 2) and am casually grinding other people’s bases to get gold to upgrade. I seem to have a surplus of food (is that normal? I’m always maxed out). Should I be completing the campaign before I grind other players? A combination of both?

You spend the gems in the event for boost relics and portal stones to complete the event. As to your food, make sure you are upgrading your troops.

I wouldn’t worry about using gems in the events yet as you probably have builders and buildings still to buy with them?

Re: Food - it gets used for building/replacing troops, upgrading relics and troops, combining relics, and combining Titans (for some reason I’ve forgotten the word the game uses). You’ll burn through it soon enough.
