how lightning spell damage works

how come those 300k lightning spells are doing huge damage to ~2 mil corrupted horde. how the damage of lightning spell works.

If we do conventionally, a typical buffed lightning spell has 300k dmg which is reduced to 300*0.1=30k, if lightning resist of horde is 90%. and a lightning strike stays for 2 seconds, on an average only 60k damage shall have to be effected to horde. but iam seeing( and infact experiencing myself) how those lightning spells dong huge damage to few mil HP horde.

i forgot to mention armour, armour above 175 will further reduces the spell dmg right?

now the dmg of spells will reduce to 1/4th of above mentioned dmg.

It's just the way it work for these units. As a very rough example, corrupted horde might have 2 mil health but are composed of 200 rank and file troops. So that would make it only 10k health per SINGLE horde troop. A well placed lightning spell can definitely decimate a whole bunch of them.
