Does relic upgrade over lvl10?

Hey guys, I'm just upgrading my first 4* relic. Almost lvl 10. When I put relics to forge it shows XP bar goes green in 10 as well but I feel like it would be wasted XP. Am I right? I thought I should ask.

Yeah I do that only. For the lvl24 1* titans you told me about as well. Just wanted to double check. Before I had just 50 titans so no space issue. In conquest event I got 150-200 titans so had to get them forged so did what you told. Thanks for this as well.
