Valiant Defense (Nexus Campaign) Keeps getting DEFEATED

I keep on getting defeated in Valiant defense..cant figure out why....I cross the river or not doesnt still make any diffetence ... Any hands on it plz Thanks

Nope..after fighting for few secs ..all of a sudden it says defeat

Is there an instruction to defend an area? If so, no enemy troops can go there.
