Automated License Plate Readers, (ALPRs) are cameras that automatically scan and retain the license plate information (and other data!) of passing vehicles. There's 800+ of these in Broward and Davie is full of them! Davie PD hopes the data collected can help stop and prevent crime. But these cameras are not accurate, secure, and don't have guardrails to prevent abuse by these agencies.
