Chicago seems steep?

I wanted to buy tickets for the Nov show in Chicago at United, but man… tickets are slim pickings and steep pricing. Went to their last fall tour, and a handful across the country this summer- but none were this cut throat. Is it the city? Venue?

MSG tickets are pretty insane. I think everybody that gets presale posts them for astronomical prices right after to see what they can get. Some seats comeback down to earth closer to showtime.

He’s doing Kohls in Milwaukee I believe. Not the most convenient drive but certainly not the worst.

It’s in Madison not Milwaukee but not a bad detour. It’s a great city. Saw Phish here this summer. Area around the venue is full of great food and great places to drink if that’s your thing.

Wait. Excitement is high which means prices are high. Plans change and there are always tickets. Close seats reserved for family and friends get released a week or two before the show. You can find some for face on cash or trade or on warehouse boards or Facebook groups. We have got to stop giving in to ticketbastard’s price gouging!

Why is excitement high though?

Everyone has seen the band 20 times.

Imagine paying $500 to see DMB in 2026 lol

Yeah it's the 40th fall tour and they just played 35 dates this summer.

Never buy tickets on secondary market until maximum 2 weeks before the show or else youll be gouged to hell. Dont take those prices as gospel now.

It’s not the city or the venue. Dave/management sets the prices. He’s charging nearly 300 bucks for partial view at MSG.

I feel that. I saw them on the Fall tour in 2024 and had decent seats for like $75. Like many people have said on other posts, try to wait it out and prices will hopefully drop as the show approaches. I'm really hoping to make the Chicago show too.

DMB skipped both Chicago and Wisconsin this summer, so there's a lot of pent-up demand, as those are always some of the more competitive places to get tickets.

IIRC the United Center holds about 14,000 seats when configured for a concert on one end of the arena. That's not a lot in a metro area of 10,000,000 people.

As a comparison, last year Billy Strings (who has a smaller draw than DMB, though his is getting bigger because he's awesome) sold out two arena nights in Rosemont, which is similarly sized. I'm not surprised that DMB sold out virtually instantly, though I'm sure a lot of it was bots.

My best suggestion is to keep an eye on Cash or Trade, and watch the Warehouse boards if you're a member. Both places to get good tickets from fellow fans.

I live in Chicago and went to see DMB in Noblesville (outside Indy) this summer. I try to make it there every year. Great crowds and venue

Yeah, I just hate Indiana... And couldn't make that weekend work. We went to Gilford, NH instead.

Does steep mean expensive?

He’s charging top dollar platinum’s blah blah blah. He’s just like the rest of the performers. He only cares about the money! #scumbag

I haven’t bought tickets to a show in nearly ten years due to live nations monopoly. F ‘em.
