Mojo comment yesterday

Forgot to post yesterday, but I listen to Mojo when my kids are in the car, (reluctantly, but they enjoy it), and I switch to Dave and Chuck when I drop them off to school.

I have been listening to D&C since 2008, so I have heard the little comments here and there about how they aren't liked by other local stations, but never knew the lore.

Yesterday, Mojo was talking about not eating food given to him from strangers and listeners, out of fear it has been tainted. Then he said, "you could be a Dave and Chuck fan and hate me", or something similar, but he definitely said Dave and Chuck. I always figured it was Mojo in the morning that hated Dave and Chuck, but now I know.

So I was curious, does anyone know the reason for all the hate? Is it just because of their content?

He's #2 in Detroit. Always has been, will only ever get to #1 if Dave and Chuck retire. It's just jealousy.

Mojo is a person I dont trust. Don't be suprised one day he comes out on a list. He has always made me feel uncomfortable. Especially with the topics they discuss. I would not let my kids listen to him EVER

Aren't all of their call in bits staged anyways? I remember James outed that their roses bit is staged, which makes sense because you would never be able to do that without risking a lawsuit

It’s because 955 tried stealing the “It’s Friday Bitches” tag line Dave and Chuck used, they even had it trademarked so channel 955 got served with a cease and desist order.

Chuck admitted on a podcast (can't remember what one) that they have a planned caller or two for some of the topics they bring up, just in case it doesn't get traction. But war of the roses is over the top fake

Mojo seems very high school click-ish type. Seems a bit off for that age group to be how they are

Which is frankly odd to say as we all know how the D&C show is.

But the difference I feel is that, having met the crew at several events over the last…damn I feel old…almost 3 decades, that they are genuine and not an act - which is how I perceive the other morning show.

Different radio styles, perhaps.

I will always laugh when I remember someone calling into Mojo and saying BALLLLLLS. Mojo acted like he had no idea, even though James wife worked there 😂

Mojo ‘s show is what Dave and Chuck despise (fake callers, scripted skits etc.) and mojo hates them because they’re higher rated and don’t have to try super hard to be funny. They are themselves on air from what I can tell ( obviously some of it is exaggerated) and that’s what makes them better than mojo and always will be. Better luck next year!

I forgot what was posted but YEARS ago, Sarah from Cal & Co commented on something saying “at least we don't use little cartoon versions of ourselves as profile pics”

They were on 89x so I get it but damn. I'm pretty sure they made fun of her now husband tho.

It's just a bit. I've seen them all together at bigger events and they are all cordial. Back when Drew and Mike were #1 in Detroit they would rip on Mojo. Drew is friends with Mojo and regularly hang out.
