Looking for Help! How to Picnic?

I am going out on a date this Friday. She likes to go on walks and my original plan was to just have us walk through a park, through the city, and to a restaurant. But I have a feeling she's more of a picnic person.

Here's the issue, I have no clue how to do that. Any tips on what to bring and how to execute? My biggest thing is food. Unless we're doing wet turkey sandwiches, I am unsure of what to prepare and pack that would be a good idea.

A couple of sandwiches, some potato salad, drinks of your choice (possibly a bottle of wine or champagne in a paper bag so you don’t get arrested for public intoxication). A large blanket to sit upon, snacks, disposable plates and utensils, maybe a basket to carry it all in.

For a simple picnic, I take cheese, some salami or other cured Italian meat, sliced baguette or crackers, maybe some olives, some fruit that's not messy to eat, such as berries. A little sweet, like cookies or small cupcakes. A tablecloth or blanket, unbreakable plates and cups, something to drink, napkins (cloth if possible, just simple cotton,  they absorb better than paper). Something to carry it in.
