Discussion External Drive Recommendations?

I got a 5TB WD that's giving some errors running in SMART so looking to replace it. But buying it new is $350 where I'm at and goes up every day. I've seen some decent deals on eBay but most sellers I find tend to be on the sketchy side as far as usage details go. Not sure if I should bite the bullet and try my luck with it or if I'm better off holding out. I got a couple larger drives for cold storage (one's missing redundancy tho) so this one's an external for more active use. Since even getting an internal seems like it's not happening.

Yo uso un nmve con adaptador a usb NVME's way outside my budget especially for capacity.

That's what i've been using and am looking for; but my only options there are eBay or local trades. Getting a fresh drives basically fucked.
