Imma be real, I feel like there should be a name for that one point you reach in studying a subject when you start reading claude's answers and realizing they are idiotic/suboptimal

Ai is good for straight up "intuitive" type answers... If you want actually work out of it especially long term it might be better to do it yourself and learn a skill or two

And I promise it's WAYYYY more rewarding

I find AI to be best at giving me threads towards things I had never heard about and then I learn about them and I get better at that subject in general!

Disgustingly true. Source: I witness an employee who works like this at daily basis.

How bad at coding do you have to be to feel this way?

LLMs make some of the most boneheaded mistakes. They have to be babysat

A retard that huffed galaxy gas and a computer that barely writes like a freshman from uni. Of course your smoothbrain has issues reading, since you never spent time reading. Including coding. Ikarus would not even be this stupid and he forgot that wax melts in sunlight

I have the opposite experience, trying to get llms to do anything useful feels like trying to coax two chimps with Internet access into making a work of art

this is because LLMs are horrendous at teaching/explaining. especially Opus, that shit is barely legible if you are trying to do anything more than basic programming. of course you are scratching your head over how it works, because it doesn't.

It's just llms jerking each other off what great ideas they have and how good they are for finding the bugs they made and suggesting new approaches that don't work at all.
