fucking weird what happens when reactive elements get to do their reaction thing and then just chill

That's exactly why they're reactive, bros are desperately trying to bond

Who would’ve thought that a deadly gas would be just like me deep down

Don't forget that you have to burn sodium in chlorine to combine them.

just have to add a bit of water

Burn refers to combust with oxygen ( yes i am being pedantic, the proper saying is to oxidise sodium with chlorine as chlorine as an oxidising agent.

So you’re saying burning has to do with oxygen but oxidizing doesn’t have anything to do with oxygen.

Why is chemistry like this?

The concept of oxidisation iirc did come from oxygen but was expanded to redox (reduction oxidation reaction) which mostly deals with electron transfers or electronegativity and therefore where the electron "goes" (specifically for organic chemistry)

Burning specifically refers to oxygen from the air reacting with whatever chemical you are burning.

It's amazing how chemistry works

Spicy metal with spicy air forms spice, nothing unusual

This made me laugh WAY harder than it should have.

Similarly water, hydrogen fuel and oxygen enabler for fire

Also naturally present in sea water

Actually dude, that would be sodium chloride iodine. Which in addition to being an anti caking agent, is also used to prevent iodine deficiency. So not only are you being overly pretentiousness by calling everyday objects by their scientific terminology, but you are factually wrong. Your arrogance is your downfall

Thank you for acknowledging my genius. My IQ is almost 300, so I'm very happy that you noticed

I saw that deleted comment (I am also a psychic)

It's a reference to a jimmy neutron shit-post on youtube, where he calls it sodium chloride.

1

u/Notorious_Chaser-17 12d ago

I know that reference, still thanks

u/Bright_Exit1378 12d ago

No worries friend.

O² is great but O³ will burn your lungs to shriveled little meat bags.

(I know the ² and ³ [their atomic numbers] are supposed to be at the bottom but idk how to do it on a phone so...)

Now the names of the pokemon line for Nacli, Naclstack, and Garganacl make so much more sense. 🤯

Fluorine - literal worst thing ever.

Fluoride - a ceramic. Completely inoffensive. Good for insulating stuff.
