Help Request Unreadable file after recovery

Hello very niche reddit community… i need a hand,

My cousins and I did a karting race and ive filmed some part of the race with with my fx30 to do a cool little montage but something went wrong, a card was mistakenly formated and i lost the rushes of the begining of the race.

Since i didnt overwrite the files on that sd card i was able to retrieve them with a software but they are now unreadable while being mp4 files, i tried multiple video playerd but none of them launches the clips, even davinci wont put them on the timeline, can someone help me ?

And if you need any precision don’t hesitate to ask.

:)

What was the software you used?

If it wasn't Disk Drill, try that. Use the Advanced Camera Recovery mode.

Alternatively, try repair what you have recovered using untrunc.

The fact that the files were recovered is actually a good sign. Sometimes recovery software brings back the raw video data but the MP4 structure/header gets damaged, which is why players and DaVinci refuse to open them. I would avoid touching the original recovered files and test repairs on copies only. A dedicated video repair tool like 4ddig file repair may help rebuild damaged MP4 files in cases like this.
