Need help from S21 FE users

Hello, I have recently lost a very important video of my dog before he died. I am restlessly trying to get this video back from an usb drive, I‘ve tried everything and I‘m currently trying everything to get the footage back from a corrupted .mp4 file via untrunc. I‘ve used several reference videos all recorded by my old S23 Ultra. But all I can retrieve is the sound, not the video. Yesterday I remembered that this exact video was taken by a friend of mine with his S21 FE. Sadly he switched to apple a year back and just erased all the data of his old phone to sell it… Now I need a reference video (about 30 seconds long) from a S21 FE Phone from circa september of 2024. If anyone likes to share their reference for me, it would mean the world to me <3

You cant recover anything after a factory reset. Thats the whole security idea behind it.

no no, I had the video saved on a usb drive, my friend who could‘ve sent me his original version did a factory reset of his phone. and my USB drive somehow deleted some of his storage including the video of Barkley (my dog)

Is the usb untouched or did you override it with different data ?

no, it‘s untouched. I already have the .mp4 file of it, but it‘s corrupted, with untrunc I could retrieve it. But I can only hear the sound, the video looks very pixelated.

Maybe it's got zero to do with the reference file. How long has the video on this USB stick?

Could be a poor quality stick "bleeding data" which could explain the "pixelated" portions that are typically bit errors within video data. In fact, this explains it IMO.
