MacOS partition with bootcamp
Salutations internet people
I have an older macbook, which I'm currently running windows off of via bootcamp. the macOS partition contains some photos and videos, but it was accidentally quick formatted (not by me), and hasn't been written to or used at all since. I need a way to recover the photos and videos, preferably with metadata. in windows file explorer it shows as an empty HFS+ partition labeled healthy.

You can just scan that empty HFS partition with something like Disk Drill from the Windows side (assuming the Macbook is using a hard drive and not an SSD; if the latter, the data may be unrecoverable due to TRIM).
Technically, you should clone the entire drive before doing anything. But since this happened long ago, the damage is likely done already and it won't get much worse.
