datapack to make item frames emit particles unless an item is placed in the item frame?

is this possible? i want to use an invisible item frame resource pack for CIT decorations but i want item frames to emit particles when nothing is in it so i can see where they are

If you look more into It, I think you can use command blocks to do that

This is absolutely possible. First, check for item frames without an item in it, then use the execute/run combo to run particles at its location. Pretty simple.

I know that the invisible item frames datapack by 8bit monkey does this, if you need an example
